Welcome new and returning families to Verdugo Woodlands Elementary School!

We are all looking forward to a fantastic school year and can't wait to meet new faces and see old friends. Please find information for the Week of  August 19, 2024 below as well as other exciting events planned for the new school year.  


Our TK/K and New Student Orientation and Ice Cream Social is on Tuesday, August 20th. Come see the school, meet families and staff, and see how you can become involved in Verdugo's PTA, WAVE Foundation, and Dads' Club on Tuesday!



Classroom supply lists for each grade level can be found HERE, on our website at https://verdugowoodlands.gusd.net/81496_2. Supply lists are for your information only and are not mandatory for enrollment.



Student schedules will go live on the Parent Portal after 4:00 PM on Tuesday, August 20th and parents should be able to view teacher/schedule information by logging into the Parent Portal at parent.gusd.net. 
Please note that class assignments are set and cannot be changed.



The First Day of School is on Wednesday, August 21st! Doors open at 7:30 AM on Wednesday.

ENTERING & EXITING THE SCHOOL - 
  • Students enter and exit through the kindergarten gate, south of the front entrance on Verdugo Road daily. 
  • Childcare Students enrolled in CDCC before and after school programs and CDCC + 60 Students will enter and exit through the Dads' Club Gate located on Canada Blvd.
VISITORS - 
  • All Visitors must enter through the front entrance of school on Verdugo Road and check in through the RAPTOR Digital Visitor Management System. 
  • RAPTOR Please bring your state Identification Card or Driver's License with you when you plan to enter the campus.

    • Parents may escort their children onto campus and into their classroom lines on the first day of school!
      • Classes line up outside of school and are escorted into classrooms by their teachers at 8:15 AM.
    • Parents may choose to bring school supplies to the classroom door, or wait to bring supplies throughout the week.
  • 8:15 AM - Tardy Bell Rings/Gates Close
